AAG’s educational and professional development arm begins a new journey in building the next generation of advertising and marketing communications professionals.
The Institute of Advertising Ghana (IAG), the educational and professional development arm of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG), has officially commenced a new edition of its Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme, reaffirming its commitment to raising professional standards and strengthening capacity within Ghana’s advertising and marketing communications industry.
The programme, which began on Friday, 10th July 2026, is being held at the Graduate Campus of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and brings together professionals and aspiring practitioners eager to deepen their knowledge and enhance their expertise through structured, industry-led learning.
Designed around carefully curated modules, the CPD programme seeks to equip participants with practical, relevant, and future-focused skills that respond to the evolving demands of today’s advertising and marketing communications landscape.
Laying the Foundation for Professional Excellence
The opening day of the programme focused on establishing a strong foundation in advertising practice through the AAG Core Foundation module.
Participants were first taken through Advertising Industry Fundamentals (I) by Venus Tawiah, Chief Executive Officer of The Missing Link, AAG Lions Representative for Ghana, and Global Partnerships Director. Drawing on her extensive industry experience, she introduced participants to the core principles that underpin the advertising profession, setting the tone for the learning journey ahead.
Building on this foundation, Emmanuel Tsekpo, Creative Director at Empire Powered by Publicis, facilitated Advertising Industry Fundamentals (II). His engaging and insightful session expanded participants’ understanding of the industry’s structure, creative process, and evolving role in today’s business environment, encouraging thoughtful discussions and active participation throughout the session.
Preparing Professionals for What’s Next
The Institute’s Continuous Professional Development Programme has been designed to go beyond traditional classroom learning. By combining practical industry insights with the expertise of accomplished practitioners, the programme aims to prepare participants to navigate an increasingly dynamic and competitive communications landscape.
As advertising continues to evolve through technological innovation, changing consumer behaviour, and integrated marketing communications, initiatives such as the CPD programme play an important role in ensuring professionals remain relevant, adaptable, and equipped to deliver value.
More Than a Training Programme
The CPD Programme represents more than an opportunity to acquire new knowledge—it reflects the Institute of Advertising Ghana’s broader vision of fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence across the industry.
Participants are not only enhancing their individual capabilities but are also contributing to the continued growth and transformation of Ghana’s advertising and marketing communications profession.
As the programme continues over the coming weeks, participants can look forward to engaging with experienced industry leaders across a range of carefully designed modules, each aimed at building practical competencies and preparing professionals for the future of advertising.
This isn’t just a training programme. It’s an opportunity to be among the first professionals shaping what comes next.
