The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) is the industry body and professional institute for Ghana’s thriving advertising and marketing communications business.

The AAG is a thought leader for the advertising industry in Ghana providing industry guidance, analysis and statistics, commentary, policy direction, professional development, inspiration, innovation, and sets professional standards as well as rewards marketing communications that work.

The association was incorporated on November 21, 1989, and was later registered as a Professional Body under the Professional Bodies Decree (NRCD 143) on November 19, 2002.

The AAG is a non-profit making organization and is mainly funded by member subscriptions.

WHAT WE DO

The AAG represents the advertising industry in Ghana on all matters regarding advertising. The association represents Ghana’s advertising and marketing communication interests to government ministries, departments agencies, local assemblies, allied organisations as well as media owners. AAG also works closely with other national associations, international advertising associations and global marketing communications bodies. We are a representative/partner of Cannes Lions in Ghana.

As a service body, AAG sets operational standards for the industry through our advisory, training, and information services. We also run an Award Scheme to reward outstanding creativity within the marketing communication business in Ghana. The awards scheme is to showcase how advertising works. Our most famous awards event is the GONG GONG AWARDS. The Gong Gong Awards is the flagship industry event for the Advertising Industry in Ghana. Over the years the awards have established benchmarks for excellence and ingenuity, rewarding creativity and outstanding innovative works across all sectors of the industry.

The AAG also manages outdoor marketing installations (billboards) for local government authorities and assemblies with modern technology for the purposes of: revenue mobilization, ensuring sanity within the outdoor space, ensuring that advertising standards are observed by the respective organizations who own the billboards.
